Why become a member of the Humane Society?

Because animals accepted into the Humane Society have the best possible chance of finding a new home!  The shelter environment is friendly, educational, and positive - which is extremely conducive to promoting adoptions.  However, a dedicated and trained staff can't keep the shelter running on positive sentiments alone!  The Humane Society of Cambria County is a private, not-for-profit organization that relies primarily on individual donations, fund-raising activities and membership fees to finance shelter operations.  Donated dollars are used for everything from vaccinations to animal bedding to heat for the shelter during the cold winter months.  Not a penny goes to waste!  Not a penny goes unappreciated by the staff or resident animals!  Our work is supported entirely through the generous hearts and hands of people like you!  Thanks for opening your hearts!

HSCC receives no funding from the Humane Society of the United States and is not supported through tax dollars. Financial support is provided primarily by individual donations. The State reimburses the shelter for services provided to them.

All animal lovers are encouraged to become members and/or volunteers of the Humane Society. Membership categories include:

*Life Membership $200.00  (one time fee)
*Family Membership (all members
residing at same address)
$  50.00  (per year)
*Contributing Membership $  20.00  (per year)
*Junior Membership (under age 18) $  10.00  (per year)

Corporate support is also welcomed.
